Scripture: Matthew 20:20–20:21

Baby Dedications: ”Fathers [Parents], do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Eph. 6:4
“Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has
commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” Deut. 5:16 (NIV)

Mrs. Zebedee—mother of James and John and a godly mother--makes a request of Jesus: “20 Then the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus with her sons. She knelt respectfully to ask a favor. 21 “What is your request?” he asked.
She replied, “In your Kingdom, please let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left.”

What expectations do you have for your children?

Some Good Qualities About Mrs. Zebedee:
She prayed that her sons would be part of the Kingdom of God.
She prayed that they would be actively involved in the work of His Kingdom.
She prayed that her children would be active leaders in the work of His Kingdom.
