What Good Is Suffering?

June 4, 2017 Pastor: Jim Swaney Series: We Have This Treasure, a Journey Through 2 Corinthians

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:1–1:11

This week we begin a journey in the remarkable life of the Apostle Paul.  No one influenced the early church in the Roman Empire more than Paul. In 2 Corinthians we see the most personal of all Paul’s letters. And, like all great figures in history, he becomes real not despite his frailties but because of them.

“We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure…But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.”  2 Corinthians 1:8,9
