Welcome To The Ministry

July 23, 2017 Pastor: Jim Swaney Series: We Have This Treasure, a Journey Through 2 Corinthians

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:11–5:21

2 Corinthians 5:11-21“And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”  2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (NIV)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”  2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

Real change starts with a new life, not just a new leaf.

You and I need to ask ourselves two basic questions:

  1. How much do I believe Jesus can change me?
  2. 2. How much do I believe Jesus can change someone else?

18 “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (NIV)

If you call yourself a follower of Jesus, you were made for a mission!  God is calling you to join Him in his mission in this world!

ACTION POINTS:

  1. Let ________change you; it’s not just “turning over a new leaf”
  2. See other people as Jesus sees them—“like _______ without a Shepherd”
  3. Commit to join Jesus in His Ministry of ___________________.

Prayer: “Lord, make me a passionate minister of reconciliation to the people around me!”
