For over 75 years, InterVarsity has had a vital presence on hundreds of college campuses, courageously proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Savior, engaging in discipleship around Scripture, and loving people of every ethnicity and culture.
SCC supports Kurt Thiel who serves as the Link Director and is responsible for staff serving in other countries. Kurt also represents North America to the global body. Kurt and his wife Laura have trained leaders and lead prayer meetings at various universities and nationwide college events.
SCC also supports Troy and Jackie Tisthammer who have served with InterVarsity for over a decade at various campuses. They attend Sebastopol Christian Church and have three children: Levi, Caleb, and Eliora. Jackie is a scripture engagement specialist. She serves chapters in the San Francisco and North Bay Areas through training staff and students, as well as developing resources for our student-led small groups. She also works directly with the chapter at University of San Francisco, discipling leaders and leading campus Bible studies. Troy is an Associate Area Director. He oversees all the staff and campuses in San Francisco and continues to help with area projects elsewhere in the North Bay Area. He works directly with students at San Francisco State University and the University of San Francisco, as well as overseeing chapter plants at new campuses, including the San Francisco Conservatory of Music."
